ANNOUNCEMENT
Fellowships in Regional Languages Study
2008-2010
The Center for Educational Exchange with Vietnam (CEEVN) announces a fellowship competition for
staff of selected institutions (listed below) to study Burmese, Hmong, Indonesian, Khmer, Lao or Khmer language at the Southeast Asian Studies Summer Institutes (SEASSI), University of Wisconsin, USA. Seven fellowships will be awarded.
Course duration: 8 weeks (June to August)
Location: University of Wisconsin, Wisconsin, USA
Fellowship includes: Tuition and fees, limited health insurance, round trip air travel, accommodation on university campus, and meal allowance. Fellowship does not support bringing family members.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
* be a full-time staff member working at and nominated by one of the following Vietnamese institutions:
- Institute of Southeast Asian Studies
- Institute of Culture and Information
- Department of Anthropology, College of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi
- Institute of Ethnology, Vietnam Academy of Social Science
- Museum of Ethnology, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences;
* hold a university degree (official transcripts required);
* have English language competence to function independently in an English-speaking academic environment;
* be under 38 years of age.

Selection
CEEVN will supervise the selection process and conduct an English language assessment of all applicants. Qualified applicants will be interviewed and selected by an independent committee invited by CEEVN.
